I write and contribute to open-source software on a regular basis. Well written, well documentented, and usable software is essential to our scientific productivity as a community. Building tools that not only I can use and take pride in is important, and leveraging the work of others is just as important.

My major software projects are listed below, but additional software examples are on github

When I can, I contribute to the Astropy python package, designed to be a package for usefull routines in astronomy and astrophysics. In particular, I’ve worked on the Astropy units package, which provides an easy syntactic way to create Quantity objects, and enforces unit-compatible operations when working with numbers that represent physical quantities.
